A ministry of International Gospel Outreach
Beginnings...
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Mississippi and Louisiana coast. In the wake of the storm, thousands of people were left homeless, hungry and without basic necessities. Teams from all over the USA began to assemble in this region and simply help whoever they could find that needed assistance.
Monty and Susan Scales, the directors of IGO Disaster Ministries (IGODM) found themselves working in some of the most devastate areas along the Gulf Coast, from Gautier, MS to New Orleans, LA.
Since hurricane Katrina, Monty and Susan have served as IGO Missionaries providing for more than 6 years as disaster relief coordinators in Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Indiana and Louisiana, and are now serving in their home state of Indiana following the 2011 Tornados there.
